Lavender Grey is a beautiful little shop selling an array of gorgeous home accessories at great prices. Ranges include Farrow & Ball, traditional paint and wallpapers, Gisela Graham, East of India, glassware, mirrors, furniture, lighting, cushions, throws, garden accessories, candles and cards
The thing I like the most about Lavender Grey is that they offer a free wrapping service with brown paper, raffia and a gift tag...just perfect!
The owner of Lavender Grey, Lucy, explains why she decided to open her own shop:
After working for an interior design company based in Warwickshire I felt that I wanted to work closer to home, the hour and a half commute every morning and night was a little harsh! The thought of running my own shop that I could put my style into really excited me. I had thought about it before but the opportunity had never arisen but when I heard about the little shop that was going to become available, I thought it would be perfect and I guess as they say ‘the rest is history!’
Lavender Grey has been given the fabulousplaces.co.uk Stamp of Approval as it, in no doubt, is a fabulous independent business in every sense of the word. I highly recommend a visit, if you're looking for a special gift or just to treat yourself, I'm sure you'll be tempted!

Took two friends of mine to lavender grey which was a great success as one of them wanted to buy everthing, she resisted the temptation so there is some stock left for everyone else!The owner is so friendly and nothing is to much trouble so I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely gift shop

A recent trip here found my wife spending more time shopping than walking - and most of that time was spent here in Lavender Grey. Even I had to admit that the shop is an interesting place to visit - and I hate shopping! Kristian was more than helpful and my wife was over the moon to find such an interesting shop here. Well worth a visit.

Having a 10 minute window to fetch some milk with no small children entitled me to have a peek at Lavender Grey following a recommendation from a friend. I will revisit as the price and selection is absolutely wonderful. The staff are very polite and courteous and the beautiful wrapping was a complete surprise and put the icing on the cake. I was even offered a drink which unfortunately I had to decline. I'm so glad I live quite locally. Definitely a shop to recommend, visit and buy from!

I have a confession to make - I live literally a stones throw from Louise's shop and have driven past more times than I would like to say and it is only today that I have actually gone inside and I am so pleased I did. My daughter was looking for a present for a friend which we found easily as there is so much wonderful, well priced stock. I ended up buying several other 'extra' bits as you do! Louise is so friendly and wraps your purchases in such a caring, traditional way - simple but effective. Will definately be going in for presents and browsing in future so don't just drive past as I have done in the past, stop and take a little time to have a look and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Just wanted to say how fantastic the new window display looks. Lucy and her little shop has become a real part of the community in the last year. She is always incredibly sweet and helpful and never gets stressed about 'little people' in the shop...which as a mum who still tries to shop is a bonus.

I only live across the road. However your little shop brightens my day. I await your window displays and admire every one. This is the most friendly of shops. Allow yourself time to look around. Whilst small it has a new suprise in every corner. You need to look more that once though to spot it. Anita

I have recently moved to Derbyshire and stumbled upon Lavender Grey on my way back to Belper from Ashbourne. Not only are there lots and lots of lovely, homely pieces to buy, but Lucy is a mine of useful information. I spent a good half an hour just talking to her. So whenever I have friends visiting I always take them to Lavender Grey, and so far, everyone has found something that they've loved.

Lucy has recently changed her opening hours and I noticed they havent been updated yet on this site. I would hate anyone else to be disappointed when the plan a visit and find her closed. The shop is now shut on Sundays & Mondays, but open every other day 10 - 6pm. Just a tip for all your "Fabulous shoppers"!

Great little shop, so much to look at! I've visited a couple of times now and there always seems to be new things to look at. The owner is very helpful and happy to advise people like me who are very indecisive!

I didn't know this shop existed! I thought I knew Belper pretty well, but then found Lavender Grey on this website. What a lovely shop, small but perfectly formed. I will definitely be heading back towards Christmas!!

Each time I visit this place I fall more and more in love with it! There is always something new & something I want. I recently purchased one of their gift vouchers for a relative which went down a real treat...Everything is so reasonably priced & unusual and if you cant see exactly what you are looking for just ask Lucy - she has some great ideas and fantastic brochures, you are sure to find just the thing. It really is the Aladdins cave of Belper. Happy shopping!
